My Grandma Faye

My WONDERFUL Grandma Faye passed away last Tuesday, March 9th 2010. Words can not describe my grandma. She was always so nice, caring, compassionate, and NEVER said anything bad about anyone. In all of my life i have never heard 1 bad thing come out of her mouth. She is such a great example and i wish i could be more like her.

One of my greatest memories of my grandma is writing her letters when my parents were going through their divorce (some 15 + years ago). She would always write me back and give me advise and always make me see the brighter side of things. I truly believe that she is what helped me through a lot of my hard times and i always knew that she truly cared and meant what she would tell me.

Grandma ALWAYS said.. "Oh Happy day." Everyone that knows her knows that she said this VERY frequently. I have to laugh about it because this has lately been my new thing to say. I have no idea why i keep saying it; but it sure makes me think about my grandma and all the good things and times that we have had together. At the funeral my uncle told us about the morning that Grandma had passed away; and on the way to the hospital, she was in SO much pain and hunched over in the car... and all she could say was "Oh happy day". What a wonderful woman.

The morning that my Grandma had passed away, I got a call at work telling me the bad news. We decided to head over to the hospital to see Grandma one last time before the mortician came to get her. We made it about 10 minutes before they arrived and it was so crazy. She did not look good at all and i hardly even recognized her. I did get to give her a kiss on her cheek before they took her to the mortuary. I will never forget this moment in my life.
After we had left the hospital my dad called me and said that the mini van in front of us driving was the mortuary with my grandmas body in the back. We DID NOT believe him... so we followed the van, and sure enough they pulled into the Wing Mortuary. They were very safe drivers and delivered my grandma's body just great. I am glad that we got to supervise :)
