Riley's Elk Hunt

Riley drew out for a big bull elk tag this year. We were all surprised and excited. He went and bought a few trail cameras so that he could see what was coming and going on their family property in Strawberry. All summer long, we seen very little elk, and needless to say I was loosing confidence that he would get an elk on their property :). He has been going up there every weekend to check his cameras and we got a million pictures (of deer, moose, baby moose, does, and very few elk). I am surprised that our computer has not crashed from them all.

He left to go up there on Tuesday morning and didn't come back until Sunday morning, and Sunday morning he lucked out and found this big bugger roaming through the trees and got him. Thankfully his 2 friends went up there on the weekend, and helped him butcher and pack it off the hill. Here are a few pictures of him with the elk.

Kaedynn was so excited that he got one when I told her; but she would NOT get a picture next to it once he got it home. She got her pink play gun out and kept pretending she was shooting it.

What an awesome catch Dad! We are sure proud of you!

Happy 5th Birthday Baby Girl!

I am a day late on blogging... but I sure love my little girl!! I was going through old pictures of her and found so many that I LOVE, but compromised with 4 :). I can not believe that you are 5 years old. We sure love you!!

Things that you have accomplished in the last year:
1) Riding a 2 wheeler bike
2) Helping mom clean around the house (you've also learned that it is not very fun to have to clean up your own messes)
3) You have found a bunch of new little neighbor friends
4) You completed your 1st year of preschool
5) You completed 2 levels of swimming lessons
6) You've been waiting, waiting, and WAITING for your new little brother to get here.. you keep wondering when he is coming. (You always have to hug him and give him kisses in mom's tummy when you part away from mom and him)
7) You are VERY sassy at times and like to tell mom and dad how it is... you've since realized that doing that gets you in trouble and you loose toys; so therefore you are not as bad as you once were :)
8) You've learned that if mom and dad tell you that you will loose your movie if we count to 3... it really does happen
9) You have picked up on dancing and are no longer afraid to dance in front of large crowds.
10) You LOVE to play build-a-bears, barbies, babies, with little beanie baby animals, watching movies, feeding the dog, sweeping the floors, the list goes on and on!!

We absolutely love having you as our child and we think that you are 1 incredible girl!!

This is you on 9/23/2009, 1 day old, still in the hospital. SOO Cute with TONS of black HAIR!!

This is you in the evening on 9/23/2009 after we got you home from the hospital. Only 1 day old!!

This is a picture of you when you were about 6 months old. You are SO Cute.

This is a picture of you in November (Thanksgiving) 2005. Just barley over 1 year old.

HAPPY BIRHTDAY KAEDYNN!! We love you and would be lost without you in our family!!
Love Mom and Dad

Kaedynn's 5th Birthday Party

Kaedynn wanted to do a Build-A-Bear party this year. So we took all of the kids up to Fashion Place mall on Saturday and had her party up there. They had so much fun, that was a great idea for a party!

Here are most of the kids with their bears (2 didn't want to be in the picture)

Here is Kaedynn with her HUGE costco birthday cupcake.

Kaedynn opening her presents up.

The kids eating Pizza and breadsticks after build a bear.

All of the kids signing her "birthday bear" that they gave her for doing her party there. She thought that was pretty cool.

28 Week Dr's Visit/Ultrasound #2

Yesterday (9/10/2009) we had our 28 week dr's appointment. Everything went really really good.

The cryto-cyst that they found on his brain last time is 100% gone.

They can still see the "thing" on his heart... the Dr said that it is the piece in your heart that ties your main arteries to your heart; and it is there but they are just showing that it is in a different angle then most babies are when they do the ultrasounds. The nurse and the Dr both said that they have seen this before and that what they will do is inform the pediatrician when he is born and the pediatrician can determine if they want to have him on a heart monitor for a while, or if they want to do an ultrasound on him after he is born to ensure that everything is functioning and working properly. --- All i can say is thank heavens for health insurance :)

The baby weighs 2lbs 9oz right now and we are measuring right on for our expected due date of 11/28. The Dr said that he will book our induction in October for the baby and the baby will be here before Thanksgiving!! YAHOO!

We are getting down the the single digits on our countdown of days until he is here (78 days - 7 days = 71 days left!!) We can hardly wait for the day to meet him.

I also had to go get my Rhogam shot on Wednesday.. OUCH! I do not remember it stinging like it did this time.. it hurt all night long. I am usually not a sissy about shots.. but this one really hurt :(. Kaedynn wanted to go with me to get the shot, because she thinks it is so funny that mom has to get a shot ... the nurse said that when she poked me her eyes got HUGE and she was just in a dead stare.. lol

Here are the new ultrasound pictures of the baby--

Labor Day

We went to Strawberry for 2 days over Labor Day weekend. I didnt take many pictures.. but here are a few.

Kaedynn's New Hair Style

Kaedynn decided that she wanted bangs and curly hair... so of course she called Kassi and Kassi did it for her the next night! She sure loves her aunt Kass.

We all agree that we love her with bangs -- she has never had them before, but they look good on her.

Swimming Lessons

Here is a couple of pictures that i took with my camera phone from Swimming lessons back in August. Kaedynn loves to swim and does pretty good at it. She is my little fish!

My little Cowgirl!!

Kaedynn went to Grandpa Eddie's house this weekend to ride the horse and play.
Summer gets so busy that we have had a hard time meeting up with each other.

When I told her that they were going to let her ride the horses, she HAD to have her cowgirl hat, jeans, and boots. My husband took my good camera up hunting; so these pictures are blurry and SUCK... but I think they are still pretty cute.

Baby Room

We have been working on our baby boy's room for a few weeks now.. we are almost done!! Riley just has to paint the ceiling and the door jams/frames and then we have to go get molding/board to go on the middle of the wall to separate the colors. Oh and of course, we have to get his name in vinyl lettering to go on the wall as well.

Here are a few pictures of the progress on the room.

This was how the room looked (Bare White Walls... YUK!)

This is the 1st set of tape we did for 2 of the colored stripes.

This is after we painted the first 2 colors of stripes... letting it dry.

Next... I re-taped all of the painted stripes so that we could paint the next 2 colors of stripes. (PAIN IN THE BUTT!!)

This is with all of the tape off of the stipes and the painted upper part of the bedroom walls.

This is after I spent about 3 hours painting the floor boards :)
I am pretty sure that next time I will spend the extra money and just go buy new ones and paint them. My big prego belly and bending down to paint these boards that were already attached to the wall just didn't work out so well :)

WE ARE ALMOST THERE!! I can not WAIT to get the room done so we can get all of the baby stuff set up in there. My house has been a complete DISASTER for about the last 1-2 months. I just keep telling myself that it will be well worth it in the end to have a CUTE baby nursery.. Since this will be our last child and we did not get to do anything for Kaedynn's nursery because we were renting..
