Remzley's Ear Surgery

Well, here it goes again. On June 8th (my dads birthday) we woke up and i started getting Remzley ready for daycare, when i noticed all of this oozy brown crap coming out of his ear. I immediately knew that his ear drum had ruptured. I waited until 8 AM when the ears nose and throat (ENT) doctors office opened up, and called them. They said that he needed to be seen immediately, due to the fact that if the hole in the ear drum is too large, it can cause them to go deaf; however the ENT doc was out of the state, and would not be back until tomorrow-- so lucky us, we got sent to the normal doctor ONCE AGAIN to be told that his ear drum ruptured and they gave him a shot in his leg of some type of an antibiotic. We then had an appointment with the ENT the next day June 9th to discuss what and where to go from here and how to fix Remzley. The ENT doc said that we should/needed to do tubes in his ears and that she thought that would take his "raspy" breathing away as well. So on Tuesday June 15th, 2010 we went to the hospital and had tubes placed in both of his ears. When the doc came out of the surgery room to tell us how things went.. her first words were... WOW i have not seen THAT bad of ears in a very LONG time. (Great accomplishment.. right) Remzley slept pretty much all day and rested up. When he woke up from his nap, he was HAPPY and most of his raspy breathing was gone. He still has a bunch of "gunk" in the back of his throat that he can not seem to get out for some reason -- but the raspy breathing, that sounds so terrible is finally GONE! I am so excited and happy to have him (hopefully) on his road to recovery. My poor baby has had the longest 7 months of life that anyone could have asked for.

Here is the picture of him in his "gown" before they took him back for the surgery.

Remzley after he got out of his surgery. It is SO sad when they bring them out.. they just cry and scream and cry. Luckily we gave him a bottle and he was quiet after about 3 minutes.

Kaedynn and Remzley the morning after the surgery. They are so cute together. Remz loves to pull Kaedynn's hair, and Kaedynn loves to talk to him with her "baby voice". They were a match made in heaven.

Big sister Kaedynn got to spend the night at aunt Nichy's house. She always has so much fun and gets so worn out when she goes there. They went to the pool and played. She had a blast.

Thank you for everyone's thoughts and prayers. They are greatly appreciated. Thank heavens that everything went well and Remzley is sounding better every day.
