We went to Moab on Thursday night after everyone got off of work. We made it to the top of Spanish Fork canyon, and Matt (my-bro-in-law)'s truck started just pouring out smoke.. so we pulled off at the summit, and made a few calls, and the mechanic that they know told us to unplug something in the engine, and that we would be fine.. and to continue on. So we ventured on, we made it all the way to Moab, and pulled off of the highway, and started down the long dirt road to the White Wash Sand Dunes, just out side of Moab; when the truck started shooting balls of fire out of the tail pipe. We turned it off and let it sit for quite some time, and then found a flat place to pull the trailer to park that night. (This was about 12:00 midnight). The next morning they called the mechanic back, and he said that they should not run it any longer, and they were going to need to get it to the shop. :). Great way to start out I know. Luckily my dad's work is working down there about 15 minutes from where we were, so we borrowed a trailer to get the truck home (so we didnt have to pay a tow truck YUK!) So Matt and Riley towed it home on Friday, and didnt get back until Friday night after dark with another truck to haul the other trailer. So we all just stayed pretty close to camp that day, and hung out at the sand dunes, and went on a few trail rides with all the girls and my dad. After the boys got back, we had the trailer back down to our campsite, and we were good as gold. We did a bunch of trail ride off of the sand dunes on Saturday, and let the kids play on their four-wheelers down in the sand all day. On Sunday we went to a trail called "Potash Road" and rode around there for a while, and then loaded up and went into the heart of Moab and went on the "Fins N' Things" trail. It started getting dark about 3/4 of the way through, so we exited the trail, and got loaded up and had dinner at a pizza place down there. (it was alright.. not great). Then on Monday we packed everything up and came home. Neeless to say, the Dodges got us all home :). Don't buy a ford. I had a great mothers day, and couldnt have asked for anything else. I hope everyone elses was great as well!!
